Gender

Our project has a dedicated Gender Specialist and gender-based targets and activities to make sure that women and girls are engaged in, and benefit from, the project and its activities. Details are contained in the project’s Gender Action Plan, available under Resources section. Gender equality and women’s empowerment are essential for effective IWRM–EbA because women are key users and managers of water and natural resources. Their knowledge, especially in traditional and local practices, strengthens sustainability and climate resilience. Equal access to resources, decision-making, and opportunities ensures both women and men can contribute fully to adaptation efforts. Empowering women breaks cycles of inequality, improves community well-being, and aligns with SDG 5 and national commitments.
