Strengthening Sustainable Information Systems through Database Management and Communication
Project Location
Savannakhet Province, Laos
Project Description
The IWRM-EbA Project, in collaboration with the Department of Water Resources (DWR), Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE), is enhancing long-term sustainability in project data management and communication. A key initiative under this effort was a two-day training workshop held from 8–9 May 2025 in Kaysone Phomvihane City, Savannakhet Province. The workshop brought together participants from Luang Prabang, Sepon, Nong, Songkhone, Xonnabuly, and Champhone districts. This initiative focused on building capacity in managing project databases and utilizing communication tools effectively. It also aimed to improve skills in writing, editing, and sharing impactful stories from the ground, encouraging the creation of local content that reflects real project outcomes and community voices. By strengthening these skills, the project supports improved information systems and enhances public outreach on water resource management and ecosystem-based adaptation. Through active participation of district-level stakeholders, this activity fosters local ownership of knowledge sharing and contributes to greater transparency, awareness, and sustainability. Running in parallel with broader project objectives, it supports national efforts in climate adaptation, water governance, and community resilience.
