Project Board Meeting
During the meeting, the Project Board members discussed the current status of project implementation, highlighting successful activities aimed at reducing flood risks, enhancing water resource management, and promoting sustainable development. The team also examined the Revised Annual Work Plan for 2024, ensuring that the project stays on track to meet its goals and addresses emerging needs.
One of the key highlights of the meeting was the introduction of a Grievance Redress Mechanism, designed to offer stakeholders a transparent and efficient way to voice concerns or complaints related to project activities. This mechanism will enhance accountability and ensure that community interests are addressed throughout the project’s lifespan.
Participants also had the unique opportunity to visit project target villages in Luang Prabang. These visits provided valuable insights into the community-driven initiatives being implemented to reduce flood risks, improve water resource management, and build resilience against climate change. Local projects such as riverbank restoration and natural-based solutions to water management were showcased, demonstrating the impact of the project on the ground.
UNDP and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment are proud of the progress made and express gratitude to all those who have contributed to the successful implementation of this important project. The collaborative efforts are strengthening resilience to floods and droughts, with the ultimate goal of ensuring sustainable water management and ecosystem-based adaptation for communities in Lao PDR. 🌱💧
